How to deal with common problems such as water leakage and discoloration of the rubber shell in law enforcement boats, and what are the reasons for these problems?
1. The color change, blistering, and black spots on the surface of the law enforcement boat's rubber shell: Due to the instability of the curing agent ratio used at different times during local repair construction, or the color difference of different batches of rubber shells, the color change (dark and light color difference, yellowing) of the external rubber shell can occur in the future, especially on dark rubber shells. Failure to completely eliminate small bubbles and dust particles during layering can cause blistering and black spots on the external rubber shell in the future.
There are three ways to handle it:
a. Color difference; Polish off the surface adhesive shell layer, reapply the same model of adhesive shell, water grind to # 1000 or above sandpaper, and then polish and wax it. During production and repair, control the amount of curing agent added according to the manufacturer's recommendations.
b. Blistering/black spots; Chisel off the blisters/black spots on the adhesive shell layer, reapply the same type of adhesive shell, water grind to # 1000 or above sandpaper, and then polish and wax to complete.
c. If there are deeper bubbles or black spots; To excavate to the bottom, use crushed felt and a layer of resin to fill the sunken area. After solidification is completed, reapply the same type of adhesive shell, water grind to # 1000 or above sandpaper, and then polish and wax it.
2. Cracking at the junction of the hull and deck of a law enforcement boat: It is mostly due to accidental collisions during use that the cracking occurs at the junction of the hull and deck.
There are two ways to handle it:
a. Small local collisions; Remove the side fender pressure strip and repair the fiberglass. Use structural adhesive and bolts to re fix it, and then reinforce/repair it.
b. Large area collisions; Please arrange for professional personnel from the dealer to repair it.
3. Cracking of the surface rubber shell at the junction of the hull, deck, flying bridge, and fiberglass components of law enforcement boats: mostly occurs at the junction of stairs, single fiberglass fittings, and the main body of the deck. Due to the combination of two fiberglass components, the concave convex corners are prone to cracking at the surface rubber shell due to long-term use.
Processing method: Remove the excessively thick surface adhesive shell layer, reinforce it with felt cloth and resin layer, apply the same type of adhesive shell again after curing, water grind it to # 1000 or above sandpaper, and then polish and wax it.
4. Water accumulation on the surface of the law enforcement boat deck: Local water accumulation is caused by poor drainage of the scratch board or teak deck on the deck surface.
There are two solutions:
a. Local waterlogging near the edge can add a drainage outlet.
b. A large area of accumulated water needs to be reorganized to adjust the drainage slope of the surface floor.
